Hello All,

I have had MDS for 8 years, am transfusion dependent for 5 years. Recently my hospital started charging me for blood – $594 for two units. I have written the hospital asking why as I’ve never been billed for blood before. No reply yet, wanted to check with patients in my similar situation are being charged for blood. I get transfused every two weeks and cannot afford close to $16,000/year.

Any replies would be appreciated.
