    My father is 83 and is constantly getting transfusions. Just wondering how low is your RBC and platelets counts when you receive the transfusions. Do you get 2 or 3 units of blood with 1or2 units of platelets. Just wondering because my fathers was a 5 on the platelets and he did not receive any platelets.

    Also what to do with hemorrhoids along with having MDS.

    My mom(79) had a platelet count of just under 7 on wednesday. She was sent right to the hospital and received one unit of platelets and two units of blood. She had a port put in yesterday and her platelet count was 48. She has been on chemo for about a month now and her white count is borderline.
