The authors also go on to describe in more detail the dysfunction of platelets in patients with essential thrombocythaemia. Wendy PJ den Elzen and Jacobi JN Gussekloo discuss subnormal vitamin B12 concentrations and anaemia and query whether these concentrations are a risk factor for anaemia in older persons.
