October 10 is World Hospice and Palliative Care Day
People from around the world will join together on Saturday, October 10 to raise awareness for palliative care services. Also known as supportive care, these services address the physical, emotional, practical, spiritual, financial and family-related challenges of facing a serious illness. Often confused with hospice care, palliative care can benefit anyone with a serious or life-threatening illness. It is available at any time, whereas hospice is reserved for end-of-life care. This year’s message is Palliative Care: it’s “My Care, My Comfort.”
