I read in one of the older posts where food can play a part in helping or hurting the blood levels. Can anyone enlighten me on the subject?

I haven’t heard of any foods that would definitely help with levels. Doc just sez to eat a healthy diet – lots of fruits / veggies. But, he also indicates we should be careful eating uncooked veggies in restraunts because we can’t be sure they’re cleaned properly. And, of course, no raw fish/meats.

    Good luck,
    Judy

The MDS Foundation has a new Building Blocks of Hope educational packet – one section covers diet. To request your free copy, contact the MDSF at their toll free number 800.MDS(637).0839.

There are foods to avoid when you are neutropenic. Be sure and check with a registered dietician. I avoid anything that is fried. I feel my system does best with veggies that are steamed and meats that are broiled with few additives.
