September 28, 2007 at 12:06 pm #19349lostMemberty.zoe for the prayer…it must have worked..the doc. said he can go as long as he can get to hospital if anything happened…his counts went up a bit. wbc-7.4-rbc-1.02-plaquettes-44..there sending him for test …chest xray–test for his heart and urltra sound to check his spleen..to see why he,s so short of breath…ty for your prayer,s let,s hope every thing go good…and he brings me back a big moose..ty..take care…
September 28, 2007 at 10:14 pm #19350NeilMemberYou may wish to clarify his RBC. If it is 1.02 he is not getting enough oxygen to his organs, particularly his heart. If his HGB is 10.2 his red cels are fairly low and could explain why he gets out of breath.
If his RBC is really 1.02 what is his HGB?September 29, 2007 at 3:56 pm #19351lostMemberHi niel .his rbc..are 102.not 1.02..what are the hbc..what does the mean…and ty for your replay..should I be asking about that..
September 30, 2007 at 1:43 am #19352NeilMemberWas looking for his hemoglobin count.
Was wondering if 10.2 was his HGB.
Believe we are working with counts on 2 different scales. For example on the scale my doc uses:
RBC normal is 4.5-5.4
HGB normal is 13.5-18.0
Sometimes there is some confusion between HGB and RBC.
If you wish you can the following link to a great site on Blood Cells and the CBC:http://web2.airmail.net//uthman/blood_cells.html
A great site that is in pretty reasonable language. I printed about 30 pages for reference.
September 30, 2007 at 7:31 pm #19353lostMemberOk ty. niel, I,ll ask for a copy of his test next time we go ..I just ask for wbc rbc and plaquettes..but on the first one we got the paper and I never ask for copys after..on his first one his HGB, was 115…is that good…they say he has myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative disease..I,ve been num eversince trying to understand this…but ty so much for helping me..take care and I,m praying for us all.
October 1, 2007 at 2:50 am #19354NeilMemberAn HGB of 11.5 is not that bad. Lets hope it stays in that range.
The first few months can be pretty difficult.
If his doc approves a hunting trip and he is not too far from help —if he should need it he should be fine.
