After 6 months of blood work, PET scan (clean) and a bone biopsy. I was diagnosed by a highly recommended local Oncologist with MDS and slated to start Arnaesp this week. I decided to get a second opinion and was lucky enough to get one from Dr. Greenburg and his Fellow Dr. Spinner. After ANOTHER blood test, and reading my blood spears and looking at the biopsy, ( they both said it was not conclusive) and while we have to wait 3 weeks for the final results from the blood work…. I received a different diagnosis. 🙂 I was diagnosed with the precursor to MDS… ICUS. Drs. Greenburg and Spinner both recommended that I have blood work every 2-3 months…not every month 🙂 that my ICUS has a 50/50 chance of ever progressing. If it does we will deal with it then. PLEASE ALWAYS get a second opinion!
