Dear friends,
My husband is back in the hospital since last Monday with infections and high fever. He was first dx in Jan.06 with MDS/RARS and it quickly turned to AML treated ara-C chemo and in complete remission. Doctors now say it could be a relapse but are not sure. Yesterday I was told that it could go real fast in a matter of days. This is so hard he is only 69 and has fought so hard. Your prayers dear friends are needed. Gloria

husband Kornel 69 MDS/RARS 01/06 turned to AML 05/06 treated with ara-C remission on Vidaza 2 rounds and infections and fever.

Engel Have the doctors done any scans (chest) to see if there are any nodules in the lungs. This is a fairly consistant marker of a fungal infection – which is tough. If he is not responding to the antifungal he might be on now ask if they can change to or add a different antifungal. Remain as tough as he has been. I am hoping for the best and my thoughts are with you. Willie
