Barb and Ron,
I’m very sorry for the turn in Ron’s remission. Not only is this crap scary, it’s unfair, unpredictable, and indiscriminate. I’m sure there are more “uns” and “ins” that we could use; probably more “bad” descriptive words that I may have used once or twice.
Barb, have you joined and / or talked to the people on the AML listserv? I suggest that you talk with some of those experts, post your history. I’ve copied the detail from the ACOR web link at the bottom of this mail as to how to join.
In the meantime, proceed with what you’ve learned from all of this, fuss, fight, ask questions, and love.

When it comes to my spouse, I would rather be the patient, I can’t imagine going through the pain of watching my loved one go through this. I read with awe the posts from the care givers, your fighters and thats what we need, but even fighters can feel overwelmed at times, thats why were here, to support each other. I hope this made sense. I don’t do well at expressing myself.
JackFebruary 11, 2005 at 10:22 pm #4020AprilMemberOh my…I’m a “caregiver” also..I think that our jobs are very important! We also need somewhere to vent and a place where we can talk to others that are in the same boat…With this forum we get the best of both worlds. We get to talk with other caregivers and with survivors and people that are currently going thru what our loved ones are going thru. I love this place and the people!!!
Barbara ~ I really hope that the next trial that Ron is on will help him out. That things will start getting better for you 2. Please know that you are in my prayers.

So sorry someone made you feel that you couldn’t post certain things here. What’s the point if you can’t be real about all of this. This is a great place for information but we are all REAL people with real feelings and need support just to get through the day. Know that you two will be in my thoughts and prayers. Praying and hoping for the best.~Lisa
February 16, 2005 at 6:35 am #4022KATHY1MemberBarbra, I can’t imagine anyone on this forum making you feel like you shouldn’t post because you are a “care giver”. It seems like at least half the members are care givers. If you shouldn’t be posting then I definitely shouldn’t be. As most know my mom passed away in October and coming back to the forum gives me a sense peace in a way. Just knowing that other people know what she went through is comforting. And even though she is gone I feel like I know so many of your stories I need to know how you are all doing.
Enjoy your time with Ron. Do the things you want to do as long as he is feeling well. Life is just too short. I wish you many more years together.
Kathy

Thinking of you both often, hope all is well.February 17, 2005 at 5:20 pm #4026mommachkateMemberDear Barbara, I just had the time to read some of the last week post. So very sorry about the setback with Ron treatment. I know what you been going through. I don’t know how anyone could be so heartless to send you such a note! What kind of person that could be? That is what we here for each other, for informations and emotional support. I don’t know what I would do without the support from the Forum! It is good that Ron is so strong and positiv, that is the right atitude.I hope ,I hear some better news from you ,before I go back to Tampa. My thought are with you and Ron. Best wishes Kate
February 18, 2005 at 5:19 pm #4027alexandra7ParticipantDear Barbara ,
I simply loved your post . I do not know if it’s denial or simply hope or optimism but that is the thing we should all do . Hope and enjoy life the way God gave it to us . I admire you and Ron because you are no where near despred . It’s such an unfair think to happen and yet you both are facing it with so much courage . You are strong people.Maybe this hope and positive thoughts will help you more than you know . But beside your optimism I admire even more that you are not giving up you are trying all knids of new things . That is great . Although most take your post as a “not so good news” because of the set back on Ron’s treatment I personaly take it as a very good news because you have found inside you the way to cope with this and move on living your life . Ohh and about that note you received don’t take it into account. Posts like yours could help so many see this desese in a diffrent way and find peace of mind . You and Ron will always be in my prayers . Best wishes to you ALEXA -
