Hey Terri,
I can certainly understand how tired and scared you must be. I am so sorry. You guys have been so strong for so long.
Keep the faith and know that you & Bob are in our prayers.
Take good care.
Love,
Kathryn
January 11, 2006 at 4:45 am #11188EnsneeMemberTerri, I’m sending you & Bob healing thoughts and encouragement. It is so stressful to hear disappointing news about your loved one. We are going through hell right now, too, having learned Hans is not in remission after his last chemo, and there is probably nothing more they can do for him.
many, many hugs,
EsmeJanuary 11, 2006 at 4:32 pm #11189SuzanneMemberEsme, I have lost track ofwhat is happening with Hans. Hasn’t it been quite a while since he did that 3rd induction?
January 11, 2006 at 8:07 pm #11190TerriMemberThank you all again for the kind words and all the prayers. Bobs hgb is holding at 9.8 but can’t get it over that he is always tired, not much of an appetite. I hate seeing him like this

my dad is taking megase to help with his appetite
speak to your doctor about it – it might helpeve
January 12, 2006 at 2:46 am #11192eveMemberan added thought
maybe bob doesn’t have enough time in between treatments for his hgb to recover
would the doctor consider lengthening the time in between or lowering the dosage until bob gets stronger

January 24, 2006 at 8:23 pm #11193sugarwhaleMemberDear Terri,
Just a word to answer your email about the Essiac Tea. My mom takes Esiac Caps. My mom has been taking them since Dec. 5. She is very much improved. Her RBC and Hg go down, but at a much slower rate. I must tell you that the improvement is slow and gradual. Don’t expect to take one capsule and be cured! There’s even one Web site that says that it takes 2 years to make a very significant difference. However, my mom is doing much, much better! Our fine doctor approves too. There is nothing but good news about it! Good luck!

have you considered going to the Gerson Institute for two weeks? they have licensed medical doctors there and will help you and your husband learn the full, powerful detoxification therapy that includes drinking 13 glasses of organic carrot-apple, dark leafy green-apple juice a day, eating tons of lovingly prepared organic veggie/fruit meals, taking pancreatic enzymes, Lugol’s solution, potassium and other natural supplements, and having coffee enemas to detox the body (and help the liver). it’s about $5,000 a week for two people, a steal compared to the price of chemo/stem cell transplant. and none of this is poison to the body like chemo is. their fully licensed clinic, called the Baja Nutricare Center is in Baja California, near San Diego. Read Michael Gearin-Tosh’s book, Living Proof, if you want more information about how this therapy works.
also, Charlotte Gerson, the daughter of Dr. Max Gerson (who was a brilliant German-Jewish physician) is a wonderful person of the utmost integrity. She runs the Gerson Institute now and will speak to you, if you wish. Just call the Institute for more info–their number is on their website.
Also, have you checked out Dr. Patrick Quillin’s immunopower supplement and book Beating Cancer Naturally?
January 28, 2006 at 6:51 pm #11196seekayMemberAlso, Terri, they use Essiac and Pau D’arco there as well as a few other proven complementary therapies.
They will assess your husband (with blood work, looking at his labs, etc.) and tailor the therapy to his needs.
January 29, 2006 at 1:18 am #11197TerriMemberjust got info from our nutritionist on the same detox theory seekay.
Changing some of the supplements will see how that goes,
Eve Bob was on every 6 weeks for the Vidaza but that didn’t seem to be working and thats why the doctor push us back to every 28 days. Not sure if this is working between the hurricane Bob’s counts have not come back and Now he picked up the Cold/Flu I was battling so that is not helping.
Going to try the options the Nutritionist gave us and see how it helps. Also some Homeopathic remedies. Thanks Sandy for your support as well.
Bobs HGB this week was 9.2 whites came down to 13. its like a yo yo. Just wish we can get the Hgb up.February 1, 2006 at 10:06 am #11198Sandy LMemberTerri,
Do not get discouraged. It is still holding and he is not tx dependant. Try Beets. Look at previous posts from Patti – It hink it is 1 small beet 1 cucumber and tsp of olive oil. I have even made it with an apple instead of the beets so that he can tolerate it. It works!!!
Why do the whites go up and down?I recently took Cold – eeze cough drops for my cold and it was wonderful. I gave them to Mike first and he got better very quickly. It is an over the counter drug ( cough drop)
Mike is on his 4th round of Vidaza. He started Monday. So far so goo. He has some mild nausea and is tired but still able to go to work. The doctor is thinking that he will try to stretch the intervals. The problem is they do not know what works. Our doctor has a call into Dr List from Tampa to see what he suggests. ( They feel he knows more than the average MDS doctor) Let’s see what he has to say. In the mean time we have not pursued the transplant option at this time since the odds are terrible and Mike is feeling better on Vidaza. The real question is for how long? Please post regularly so that
