April 7, 2005 at 9:48 pm #5357NeilMemberHi Carrie,
The snow in Bflo last weekend was a real downer. Heavy wet stuff that was a nuisance. did not stop anything—but school on Monday.
Seems there are lots of people from Bflo.
erie County is broke. They wanted to raise salkes tax to 9.5%, but it was voted down. They fired about 2000 people, closed all county parks and closed all but one vehicle registration office. One guy they fired was the county executives driver. Salary was $81,000/year. Made him Parks Comissioner, but they closed the parks .April 8, 2005 at 4:30 am #5358JimbobMemberNeil,
Don’t you dare leave us like that again. Next time you take your laptap with you and go mobile or something!!!!
Really, glad you were on vacation and missed you a lot.

We have a joke that there’s a church and a bar on every corner . There is a lot of alcoholism there.
We’re a hardy bunch, though. And stubborn. Most of my family won’t leave.
It’s disgusting that they’re closing libraries while other cities are building new ones. Something has to be done because I’m not sure how much further Buffalo will fall . What happens to dead cities?
There are beautiful stories about how the communities band together during blizzards but they just can’t get it together to save the city. So sad.
I still get some warm fuzzies when I go home but I can’t really stay there very long. I’m going there for a week next month while my mom has surgery. I’m going to spend some time with them, take care of her, and drive dad to his appointments. I think a week will be enough and I’ll want to get back to Virginia .
Well, as you can tell, Buffalo has been on my mind for a while. I have a lot of hometown love. Better get off my soap box now .
