Hi Sandy, I’m so glad you are back. I also think of you often. I tried to look you up in the directory but you seem to have disappeared. I can’t believe it’s been 9 months (my mom too). Sometimes it seems like just yesterday doesn’t it? It’s great to have kids to keep you busy when you really feel down. Hope you are doing well.

KATHY1MemberContinued prayers for Karen’s health.
My husband works in Manhattan and they are on high alert also. He has a friend whose father is high up in the police department and he’s been driving into work. Makes me wonder, does he know something? Kind of scary but we continue on as normal as possible otherwise they win.

KATHY1MemberJohn,
Thanks for the info. My oldest daughter keeps bugging me to by her blackberries or raspberries. I keep telling her $5.00 for that tiny container is obscene. Maybe I’ll give in.Kathy
KATHY1MemberKathryn,
So sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. My heart goes out to you.Kathy
KATHY1MemberThis is for all of you who have strong religious beliefs. You have all made the right decisions for you because it’s part of “God’s Plan”. He has the final say in how you respond to treatment. Or does he?
Whatever, everyone here is fighting the same battle so lets not bicker.

KATHY1MemberCarrie,
I feel so bad for what you are going through. It sounds like your dad has some good doctors though. When my mom was in the hospital they practically made her sign a DNR when they took her off the respirator. That still pisses me off because they knew the rest of us did not want it and she was not in any condition to be signing it. Anyway your dad is much younger then my mom was so they’ll fight harder. I’m hoping and praying for your dad to get through this.Kathy

KATHY1MemberCarrie,
Sorry to hear about your dad. I hope his lungs are clearing. When my mom was in the hospital on a respirator the doctors (we felt ) took her off way too soon. They didn’t even wait to find out what was in her lungs before they took her off. All I want to say is DON’T LET THE DOCTORS TALK YOU INTO REMOVING YOUR DAD FROM THE RESPIRATOR. Make sure the lungs are clear. If you have a feeling it’s not the right time then it probably isn’t. Unfortunately for our family the doctors waited until my dad was the only one at the hospital with mom before they took mom off. They knew the rest of us were not comfortable with her coming off. Doctors don’t always know best.
Keeping you and your dad in my thoughts and prayers.Kathy
KATHY1MemberCarrie,
So glad you are able to spend time with your mom and dad. Enjoy it! Sounds like you take after your mom. Wishing everyone feels better soon.Kathy
KATHY1MemberKathryn,
So sorry your dad and the rest of your family have to go through this. It wasn’t that long ago when we had problems with the ER doctors when my mom was in the hospital. All I can say is keep track of everything they do. I don’t know about your dad’s hospital but where my mom was they didn’t offer much information unless we asked. Try to stay positive. Your in my thoughts and prayers.
Kathy
