I too drink papaya leaf tea and papaya juice. I also take Black Sesame Seed capsules. I can’t say they have helped me. I recently had a heart attack along with the MDS. It was found my platelet count was down to seven. I have had several platelet transfusions since, but they have not helped. My oncologist has suggested I start on Proscrit in hopes of increasing my red blood cell count. But the side effects list too many problems involving the heart. I am still pondering that move. But like TAM stated, papaya will not hurt you.
Clement RoseParticipantPat, I’ve seen a lot of notice’s from law firms trolling for clients for different type cancers. The one for benzene use is a rather later one. I do not recall ever having used benzene in my long work career with a very large communication company. However, we did use carbon tetrachloride extensively for many years before they quit supplying it to the job sites. We also were in contact with asbestos for decades before they changed to a different fire proof product. Did any of those cause my MDS? I’m much too old to ever find out.

The treatment is supposed to kill all the cancer cells in my blood. But they skim over the fact that it kills all the blood and platelet cells, with the hope my body will regenerate new healthy cells. I don’t follow the logic. I would think the correct method would be to try to increase all the counts first. My RBC and HGB is slightly below REF.RANGE. mY wbc COUNT IS 1.1 AND PLATELETS AT 18, which are very low. t just seems I’m being rushed into something against my better instincts. What kind of recovery rate is reached with this method on an 85 year old male? Reading all the posts to see the responses.

Clement RoseParticipantI was just looking at this treatment myself. I found there is a chiropractor who has this technology in my city. What is the cost? Does insurance pay? How long do treatments last? How often? I know lots of questions, but you are the only one who seems to be like thinking. Thanks

Today I had a second bone morrow biopsy with the results expected back in 5 to 10 days. I have some misgivings about chemo therapy treatments. But I do firmly believe our bodies can heal itself with other treatments. I do not exercise enough, of that I’m sure, I also don’t follow a healthy diet. I don’t punish myself by eating junk foods, alcohol, drugs, etc. I am encouraged by your fathers progress with a healthier diet and some exercise. I was very athletic as a young man but I tire very easily in my 85th year. I still consider myself fairly healthy despite the MDS. I had downloaded the regimen that other patient had entered, but it came out in very small print. I’ll get my magnifying glass and read it now. Your post was very encouraging. Thanks.
Clement RoseParticipantAzalin, I was diagnosed with MDS four years ago. I researched and was advised to take sesame oil capsules, papaya leaf tea for platelets. Didn’t work for me. My WBC and platelets have continued to decline, but everything else has shown some improvements.
Clement RoseParticipantI tried the tea after reading your post. I have a blood test every month for MDS. My platelet count was 62 on Feb. 22, 2016, I ordered the tea after that date and began drinking two cups everyday. I love the tea, with nothing else in it. On my April 20, 2016 blood test my platelet count was 87. My WBC and RBC are staying yet on a low level. I will be going in tomorrow for my May blood draw, and will post whatever my platelet count may be.
