gemloyearMemberAlice, Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. It’s so sad to read these posts,as I have been down this road before and realize how you are suffering.I took care of my mom at home until she passed. It’s not easy, harder on the family than on the patient. THe patient is usually ready to let go when we’re not. Blessings, Ellie
gemloyearMemberHI Marsha, I’m so happy to hear you had such a wonderful report. Take care to stay away from those flu bugs. I went into the news web site re: the flu outbreak around the country. It stated anyone who wants the vaccine now can get it, family members who live with immune compirmised people as well.THere was also mention of anti-viral meds available to be taken during the first 2 days of symtons. Worth looking into. It stated that the worst is yet to come.Take care, prayers really do help.Prayers for all who are fighting this lousy disease. Ellie
gemloyearMemberTHanks for the “Payback” a good lesson for kindness.Ellie
gemloyearMemberAndrzej.Thank you for your explanation of the varios categories of AML, it’s mind bolgling to me as a lay person, but it gives us a basis to reseach our own category. It’s very helpful to have your input.Best wishes for your father. Ellie

gemloyearMemberJulie, By the way the the A.A. & MDS. Foundation is also compiling a patient registry, see the cover of the winter news letter. Ellie
gemloyearMemberYes tah, it worked. I found it to be an excellant article, very informative. Thanks so much.It helps a lot when you put the site in the way you did. I still haven’t found out how it’s done, wish I could do it.I still haven’t learned how to navigate the web sites on my own too well yet.the commputer seems pretty easy once I get through my head ( that’s saying a lot). Thanks again, have a good day. Ellie
gemloyearMemberDoesn’t the MDS Foundation usually publish a report on the conferances? I t would be interestingto see if they believe that mds is hereditary. It seems that many familys have or had member with leukemia ,lymphoma and other cancers.Has anyone noticed the high number of new patients registered on the forum, are doc’s becoming more proficient diagnosing it or has it always been this many? Ellie
gemloyearMemberBarbra, I’m sorry I forgot to mention that there are high protein drinks that don’t contain milk, which is not too good when one has a fungal infection. Milk also promotes mucous. I used the powdered protein years ago, it may have been a precription,it’s, something that can be either drank or tube fed.Your doc will know what it is.No one is giving up yet look at Jimbob, it seems as though he was in the same spot.We all have hope in miracles .Ellie
