    Isn’t that a question for your doctor(s)?
Wishing you the best of good luck,

Glen, thanks so much for that. My nurses all know to spin the syringes in their hands first. But I had such a bad week of belly shots and just can’t take it anymore. I’m really looking forward to getting my port. 🥰

Jerry, the shots cause me itching, burning, bee-sting-like sensations, and loss of sleep. I can’t take it anymore! I’m getting a port.

Clarification: this is my sixth cycle, and I am having a good response to Vidaza.

Kathy, I’d love to hear more about your CBD products but haven’t figured out how to private message you. I’ve used a CBD cream for my itchy/burny belly but suspect it might be the peppermint oil that has a cooling effect. I’ve used aloe Vera gel more frequently. I’m also interested in sleep products.

Update a week after my initial response following my first 7 vidaza treatments:

I’ve been suffering from low blood pressure and cannot drive, which is a minor bummer. I’ll know more this week about whether this is likely to continue.

I’m a newbie, but I suspect that choosing a center of excellence would be a best bet.

Now you’ve got me wondering if I was too hasty in choosing chemo immediately.

I just completed my first 7 days of Vidaza and can report very little in the way of side effects. So far, so good! Drink lots of fluids and take care of yourself. Good luck! 🍀

I had the first of two of the new shingles vaccine before my MDS diagnosis and it’s now time for the second. I plan to ask my oncologist if it’s okay to have the second shot when I see her Tuesday.

I just completed my first 7 days of Vidaza, treatment-related MDS (from chemo for breast cancer), yes to TP53 but no excess blasts (bad news, good news). I ignore the survival stats as they don’t apply to me in particular. Each of us is unique. I’m too old (75) for a stem-cell transplant so I just have to hope for success with this treatment. Hang in there!

Hang in there! At least you’re stable. But I see how you could be a bit discouraged after five cycles.

Thanks for the Senna tip. I still have Miralax from my 2018 opioid constipation adventure, so I’ll start with that. How long have you been getting Vidaza?

I had my first bone biopsy recently, performed by my oncologist. I was so scared prior to the procedure, but it was not a big deal. The worst part was the local anesthetic, and that sting doesn’t last long. My doc is adept at this procedure and made it easy. If the biopsy is done by someone experienced and skilled, the local anesthesia should be adequate. I didn’t even have a sore spot afterward. Best of luck to you!
