Darrell Christensen1931-2020

Darrell's Story

Darrell was born in MN where he lived for 63 years except for Army service and an occasional out-of-state job in construction. He was employed for 31 years by the Department of Transportation building roads (a Civil Engineer). Darrell loved the outdoors and nature. Together we camped, canoed, cross country skied, biked, hiked and gardened. We also enjoyed a fierce game of racquetball. His “solo” activities were hunting ( turkey hunting became his favorite) and fishing. He and I built our 2-level 2,800 square foot home on 10 acres doing 95% of the work ourselves. After we both retired, we moved to AZ where Darrell volunteered for Habitat for Humanity for 14 years in the construction area. After that, he and two buddies formed a partnership and “flipped” a few houses. He was active in church & served in several areas.
