Sheila's Story

Sheila McKeon was the heart of our family. She was an immigrant from Ireland who loved her adopted country and was very proud to be an American. She raised six children and had a long and flourishing career as a labor and delivery nurse. Nothing made Sheila prouder than helping bring new life into the world. She was extremely active in her Church and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Sheila loved to cook and we will all remember her famous Thanksgiving feasts. If you looked away for a moment, Sheila would have baked a pie.

Sheila loved the outdoors and passionately enjoyed gardening. Sadly, she was diagnosed with MDS in 2019 and had to give up many of her favorite activities. As the pandemic hit, Sheila learned how to use Internet-based tools to communicate with all of us. She remained deeply interested in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives until the very end.

Sheila passed away peacefully on September 9th 2020 surrounded by her family just as she had always wanted. We will always miss her and no one can replace her in our lives.
