This is a sad time for the entire forum. For the five years I’ve been logging on, Neil has been the goto guy for information and advice, it was always accurate and well explained. He kept his personal opinions to himself and just provided sound information. He was this forums “google” and “wikipedia”. What a shame. What irony that he fights MDS for 12 years and gets hit by lung cancer.
    The man is irreplaceable.
Our thoughts and prayers are truly with him and his family.

I will miss Neil’s understanding of this awful disease. His explanations were always so helpful. Though we never met, I felt he was a friend just from reading his writings.

My condolences to his family and friends.

I don’t know of anyone who had such a good grasp of the blood diseases and treatments – this includes many doctors. He will be sorely missed and my prayers go out to his family.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family, he was a great inspiration for the four years my husband battled this disease. Neil always had the answers.

I am in shock after learning of Neil’s passing. He had offered to be of service to me when My wife & I came to Minneapolis for my wife’s transplant. I will surely miss his eloquent dissertations on this Forum. My heartfelt sympathy goes to his family.

I think we will all miss Neil’s insight and knowledge. I think he would appreciate all of our condolences, but I think he would want us to go on fighting our quest for knowledge and understanding of this terrible disease. We all need to pull together at this time and forge a new strength with his spirit at the core.

Thank you for your kind, kind words. We’ve checked in, shared with family and found comfort. We knew Dad was involved with MDS online, but had little idea of the extent. It makes us even more proud of him than we already were. If it’s alright, we’d like to have these messages in a book at his Visitation, to share this quiet work that was so near and dear to his heart. Thank you again, Mary Lou
