    Hi Guys,
Not sure if anyone remembers me but here is my story in short. My Dad in Australia was diagnosed with RAEB 1 in May of last year and after I visited in Novemeber I was given hope that he would be fine for a little while. He has had only 1 transfusion in early September and his blood test levels have been stable. He was in general good health until last night. My Mum calls me to tell me that he is in hospital with blood clots in one lung and air pockets in the other. Of course she hasn’t asked enough questions to know what’s going on, so that is my question to the forum. Has anyone come across this situation and know whether it has any relationship with MDS? Any thoughts at all really?
    thanks

Update as of last night is that the suspected clots turned out to be an infection. Still not a good situation but nowhere near as bad a clots, thank goodness.

    Jeanette,

Glad to hear it is not clots. How are his counts holding up with all of this?

    Zoe,
Not sure of how the bllod is at the moment. He has had another marrow aspiration whilst in there and we wont have the results until the end of the week. All in all he is well in himself. thanks
