My dear father in law is 80 years old. Here in NYC the experts diagnose his MDS as mild. However; without shots of procrid, his hemoglobin hovers around 5-6. He is currently receiving a weekly shot of 40,000mg of procrid. This keeps hemoglobin around 9. Any suggestions or alternate methods to build up hemoglobin? Thx.
