My husband with MDS (78 with poor prognosis) is having a problem with itching. I am wondering if anyone else is with MDS is having this problem. The itching seems to be mostly on his back. We are using prescription cream but it does not seem to help much. I also want to say thank you to the MDS foundation for the help with getting us into a center of excellence in Rochester, NY for a second opinion. They were wonderful.

I suggest you buy Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream in a tub and apply immediately after you shower or wash your back. It works wonders.

I would suggest buying an ice pad and keeping it in the freezer. Then lie down on it when you he gets itchy. This helped me out tremendously. Get a big one to cover the whole back, they sell them on amazon.

Good luck, I normally got itchy after a shower.
