My Dad is 58 years old, he has MDS 1 Year ago. he has low platelet counts. Now, the doctor tells us to buy medicine named: “Revolad”. and the doctor just tells me MDS his disease can’t cure and My dad may not live more than 5 years. This is really news for my family.

    – We live in a very poor country | Cambodia |
    – How can i help my dad?
    – Do you know what organization or hospital can help me about MDS in my Country?
    – Someone said Stem cell transplant (SCT) is the only treatment that can cure myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). is it right? i used to check on the internet it cost more than 400 000$, we don’t have that money.
    – Do you know any organization help poor people with MDS in my country?

Dear Chov, I know this is a difficult situation for you and I would recommend that you take your father to one of our Centers of Excellence in MDS for a second opinion. He should be very carefully assessed before undergoing any treatment. Benefits versus risk analysis should be done with any treatment. Following is a link to our Centers of Excellence worldwide https://www.mds-foundation.org/mds-centeres-of-excellence/. I hope this information helps. If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
