I was wondering if anyone out there has been diagnosed with both MMand MDS. My mother was diagnosed with MM in 2012 and has suffered a lot of bone destruction in her spine. Then last September after a year of bimonthly blood transfusions she was diagnosed with MDS and bone marrow failure. The doctor put her on Aranesp and after 3 months of treatment her anemia has stabilized. I live far away from her and can hear in her voice that she is still not feeling well at all. She doesn’t like to share details of her blood tests so it’s hard to know what’s going on. When I look online the prognosis is not good. It’s hard to know when to go there if she is declining. Can anyone relate to this and offer insight?
