My Mom is in Hospice

Hi There,
I think I have posted on this board 4-5 times, I have found some very helpful information. Right now, my heart is broken, I am an only child of a beautiful, smart, witty Mom….that happend to have have MDS….that transformed to AML 4 weeks ago.
I know her body is tired & she is not scared….although, she really wants to stay around for a while….God has other plans.
I love this woman with every fiber of my being….she tells me….I’ll be alright…..
I will be the best person I can be to meet up with her in a later…..so much better life.
Please keep in your prayers for an eas, peaceful, passing….My beautiful Mom….Dorothy Hasey…..

Jan,

You are the proof that your mother is everything you say. My heart is breaking for you as I read this. It is good for you to share your feelings.

When my mother had to say goodbye, I felt the same way as you. Not only was I loosing my mother, but my best friend at the same time.

Try and remember the blessing of your closeness and trust God to get you both through this hardest of times. We will all pray for you.

Jan, I am so so so sorry that you and your mother has to go through this. I am so sad that everyone on this forum has to go through this. Today was a horrible day for my dad and I, and even though my dad’s MDS hasn’t formed into AML, it has been one heck of a roller coaster ride.

This disease is a rollercoaster ride and there are times I seriously want to find the “chicken exit” because it’s so hard to face. I am so sorry Jan that you are losing your mother–I am too. I believe your mom is right–you will be okay. Part of her will always be with you. Be assured that my prayers are with you.

Dear Jan,

My heart aches for you. I just went through this the past two weeks. I will tell you that this next ten days will be some of the hardest you’ll ever go through, but you will never regret being at your mom’s side through it all. I pray strength and peace for you during this time. I so understand right where you’re at.
