Platelets dropped suddenly with AZA + VEN treatments

My father was recently diagnosed in July and began treatments at MD Anderson. He responded well after only 2 cycles (AZA + Venedoclax). His blood levels began rising and platelets got to 500k. Bone marrow biopsy showed boasts down to 1% (8% at diagnosis). His platelets dropped from 340k to 8k in a week. Received platelets and is still dropping. Dr has postponed next cycle. Has anyone else experienced this drastic drop in platelets while on treatment?
