F.Y.I….. I suppose Suzanne is right… we need to post the good w/ the bad…It is a source of information from experience, etc. and someone to turn to who has been there and can offer support as well as answer questions.
Yesterday my father was put in an isolation room. He was originally diagnosed w/ pseudomonas pneumonia (hospital borne) on Monday and the x-ray of his chest was “better” on Tuesday… He even looked better, for what it was worth. Yesterday his pneumonia became “resistant” and we had to put on a gown, gloves and a mask to visit him. They cultured everything they could. His surgery site is infected as well. So sad for him. They are trying what they have antibiotic wise to fight this, but the pneumonia apprently is truly resistant…. I have not been to see him yet today, but my sister, who has been wearing rose colored glasses just about the whole time, finally took them off today…..
Please pray for his peace. However God sees fit, I can accept.
W/ love & best wishes to you all,
Kathryn
July 14, 2005 at 8:17 pm #7584SuzanneMemberKathryn, I am hoping for the best for your Dad and have you in my thoughts. I did see something like this happen to a couple of other patients when I was in the hospital. I know it is not easy.
July 14, 2005 at 8:21 pm #7585CarrieMember*HUGS* I’m so sorry Kathryn. Unless my cell phone battery dies, I should be able to talk to you tonight. If you call and I don’t pick up, I’ll call you back on my home phone.
I have some family with rose-colored glasses, too. It’s really hard for them.
Take care,
CarrieJuly 14, 2005 at 10:21 pm #7586TerriMemberKathryn, I am so sorry your dad is not doing better, will continue to pray.

I’m sorry to hear this news about your dad. I will be praying for you and your dad. PatJuly 15, 2005 at 5:14 am #7589KathrynMemberToday felt surreal…..still does…. My dad’s health has declined to the point that the doctor feels that there is no hope of recovery. He is being taken off of the ventilator tomorrow and will be moved to a regular room so that his family can be with him. *sigh* As heartbreaking as it is, I so don’t want him to suffer any more…
Well, I just wanted to let you all know….
Your prayers & support are so apprecited…
Love,
Kathryn

Hope your dad will be better.
I pray for you!July 15, 2005 at 1:22 pm #7592CarrieMemberKathryn,
I pray for peace for your dad. I hope his passing is as beautiful as my grandmother’s was. At the moment of her death in a local hospital, a lullabye played over the hospital intercom. The lullabye was a sign that a baby was born in that hospital. The circle of life…

CarrieJuly 16, 2005 at 1:53 am #7593LolamMemberKathryn. So sorry to hear about your dad. It is so difficult to see our loved ones go. Death truly is an enemy!! I pray that you will have the strength and peace you need. Dads hold a special place in our hearts, the good ones anywise, that just can never be met by anyone else. I hope that “place” is full of memories that will comfort you in the days ahead. We never lose that!
