I am 73 YO male diagnosed in June with low risk MDS. Only low platelets at this time and TET2 and PHF6 mutations. My platelets fluctuate between 34 and 42. My oncologist is currently taking a watch and wait position. I am also seeing a holistic physician who has me on supplements to boost my immunity. She had a infrared sauna in her facility and suggested that I try it as it has been shown to have many health benefits. I did a lot of reading on it and decided that it could not hurt me to try the infrared sauna. I loved it and purchased a smaller one for my home. I have been using it daily for a month now and I feel absolutely great. Much less pain, more energy, much better sleeping and sense of calm all day long. I have no idea if it will have any effect on my platelets but I am confident it will keep me feeling good. If anyone has any experience with infrared sauna I would like to hear what your thoughts are.
