We had a family meeting with the dr on Thursday and he stated that her AML is progressing quickly. The antibotics that she has been on is doing more harm than good. So, she said that she wants no more iv’s, no more blood, no more plts. We moved her to a nursing home until she is strong enough to come home to spend her last days. The Cellulits (sp?) that she has is now in her arm and she has a blood clot in her leg. Her leg looks really bad and is still so swollen. She is taking tylenol for her fever and she takes pain meds & the reset of her meds by mouth. It is just so sad to see her in a place like that. I have never been to a nursing home and didn’t realize just how depressing it is. Please pray with me that the Lord will take her quickly and that she will not have to suffer…

January 11, 2005 at 2:05 pm #3038AprilMemberThank you so much for the support. My husband is having a really hard time. He is 34 years old and he is getting ready to loose his mom. His dad passed away in 1996 and now this. I just can’t imagine what he is going thru. Plus, for some that didn’t know, he is the baby of 6 so him and his mom has always had a special bond.
So far she is doing good, except for the cellulitis(sp) in her leg and arm. Her leg looks awful. She is still keeping a temp because of this infection, but she has been up and moving around. I just pray that the Lord will take her peacefully..I would hate to have her suffer, but I know that is something that we can’t control.
Thanks again everyone…

January 11, 2005 at 7:17 pm #3043KATHY1MemberApril, I feel so sad for all of you. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers. I’m glad your husband has so many siblings. I also come from a family of 6 and when my mom passed away in October we were all there for each other. It seemed when some were falling apart the others were there to keep it together. I hope your husband’s family is as close and they are there to support each other. God Bless.

January 11, 2005 at 8:39 pm #3044AprilMemberKathy ~ Thank you for that. Rob’s family is not close at all, which is the bad part. I come from a family of 6 (i’m the oldest) and we are all very close, but Rob’s family is strange…But that’s a totally different story…She is not doing well today she is keeping a temp of 100 – 102. They are giving her tylenol but as soon as it wears off her temp goes right back up. Her belly is starting to swell pretty bad..so I don’t know..it just seems like she will be gone faster than we expected…
