MemberHi Patti,
I would love to know what naturapathic medicine your Mom is taking to help heal her bone marrow. Please share if you have a chance.
Thanks so much.

MemberHi Karen,
Probably the thing that I have learned the most this past two years is that naturapathic medicine is definately not an exact science. But more importantly, it is important to have someone who can help guide and direct what a person is taking. If you do a search of this forum for “natural medicine” or “chinese medicine” you should come up with a bunch of posts where I’ve talked about what mom takes. You’ll notice if you start with the older posts that things changed a lot from the beginning until now. Although she still takes some supplements we are focusing mainly on chinese medicine right now. After you read through the posts from here, my chronicle of her use of naturapathic medicine continues at the above link.
You will find most people (especially doctors and other medical personnel – and even some people on this forum) very antagonistic towards natural medicine. From my perspective, my MIL has lived a longer, healthier life using natural medicine to treat this disease then she would have if she’d tried the drugs they wanted her to use. But not everyone feels that way. It is obvious to us that mom’s life is winding down but she still feels well in general and is able to do the things she always has. We will never regret our decision to use natural medicine and if anything, will always play that game “if we’d only known sooner.” I say that because we waited a year before we found a naturapath and chinese medicine practioner. Our first year of using natural medicine we were literally flying by the seat of our pants without a clear view of what mom should and shouldn’t be taking. I think that year gave her MDS a chance to get ahold in her body and made getting rid of it very difficult. Nonetheless, at 76, she’s come a long way with a disease that we were told was guaranteed to give her leukemia and kill her in 4-6 months.
One thing I’ll throw in at this point is if a person chooses to do the chemo/transplants, etc. that go along with trying to “cure” their MDS I, at the bare minimum, would recommend working with a naturapath that can stregthen the body while a person is going through treatment. This will make the treatments more successful and also change the bodily environment that allowed the person to get the disease in the first place. I believe the success rate of standard medical treatments is far better when combined with natural therapy to help the body.
Write anytime. If you don’t get your questions answered by reading my postings on the forum, let me know. I’ll be glad to answer them.
All the best,
Patti
