Hi, I am an MDS patient currently being treated with Vidaza injections one week a month. My doctor wants to add Venetoclax to my regime,n but my Plan D insurance (Silverscript) has refused to cover it,claiming that Venetoclax is only FDA approved for AML(leukemia). I am appealing the refusal and looking to find what drug plans do approve the use of Venetoclax with Vidaza for MDS. Is there anyone out there who is taking Venetoclax that’s being paid for by your Plan D insurance. I would very much appreciate your getting in touch with me as this information is critical to my appeal. Thanks so much…Carol S.

My husband is in a clinical trial since November using Vidaza and Venetoclax and he is having great results. It is not FDA approved for MDS yet but because it is working so well in the trial phase they are saying that it could be approved by August for MDS.

    Hi Carol,
I had a clinical trial of venetoclax for 1 week before my transplant. As it was a trial, no insurance was involved. Sorry!
