Thank you all!
Last evening my mom was admitted to the hospital on IV antibiotics. She might have to stay over the weekend, they drew blood cultures. They don’t think it is related to the BMB or the Vidaza. She might have a sinus infection. Will she have to go into the hospital for IV antibiotics every time? It seems if this is so, we won’t be able to visit her and her grandchildren really won’t be able to visit her. She has 10 grandchildren.
Her temp goes down with Tylenol. I’ll talk to the Doctor tomorrow. Thank you for all your input. It means so much to me!!!
Andrea

I didn’t read all posts before posting. I am sorry for the latest setback. They’ll probably give him vitamin K, believe it or not, possibly some heparin
So sorry about previous post! Andrea
AndreaMemberGood news from the kidney doc!! Thats real important. God Bless you and George and for continued improvement!
AndreaAndreaMemberThanks Eve:
What are they looking for in the bmb? Here I am an R.N. and I don’t even know. They did one when they originally diagnosed her.
Thanks, Andrea
AndreaMemberHi:
Actually, the urine being reddened is a sign of blood in it. The fever could be a slight reaction to the transfusion. The blood in the urine could be as well.
It is best to let the doctor know about both of these. If you are not taking Tylenol and Benadryl before a transfusion, it may be a good idea.Good luck, Andrea, R.N.
AndreaMemberSo sorry to hear about your dad. I can’t imagine what you are going through. Your dad is so young, you must be as well, too young to be going through this. God Bless you and your family. Andrea
AndreaMemberI am so wsorry about your dad. My prayers are with you

AndreaAndreaMemberDawn:
My mom ended up with a rash on her abdomen which they think is an allergic reaction. Don’t know if it was the Vidaza , the procrit, or the Neopogen. The doc gave her some cortisone cream and she will probably use some Benadryl the next cycle. If the allergy is not life threatening, maybe Benadryl could help, instead of cancelling the Vidaza alltogether.
Good luck Andrea
AndreaMemberHey Jody,
I just found out today that my mom’s plts are also 220,000 ! Are we living in a parallel universe? Her WBC’s 1900 so we are waiting for those to rise before her next treatment of Vidaza. Hope this means the chemotherapy is helping.
Best to you, Andrea
AndreaMemberChristine:
My mom has only had one treatment with Vidaza so far but she did sleep most of the time that week and the following week. It’s good to know that is normal, because my first instinct was to try to get her up and about during that time. Glad I didn’t She is feeling much more energetic now and her counts are fine.

AndreaMemberHi:
My mom who is on Vidaza, Procrit, Neupogen broke out in pimples along her abdomen. Not sure what the doc said about it, but I am pretty sure it was more of an allergy than an infection.
I’ll ask what the doc said and let you know.AndreaMemberThats great, Jody. What is the difference between early CMML and CMML itself? My mom was diagnosed in December with CMML. Had her first month of Vidaza, her counts are now pretty good, but I don’t have numbers, Yet. I’m going to call the doc, tomorrow
Best to you and your mom,
Andrea
