I am 66, and have MDS, I have extreme low white blood cells 1.2 and sometimes lower. Was told I am at too much of a risk for a bone marrow transplant. It depends on the doctor prognosis and your overall health.

Mary, I have not done any treatments yet. Had 5 surgeries last year. Colon removed, hernia surgery and other surgeries. Now i am on a wait and see. They do not want to use vidaza, too weak. Hope this helps.

My main problem is low white blood cell count 1.1, Red Blood Cell about 3.7, hemoglobin 12.1. and platelets are at 79. Intrinsic factor is something to do with Vitamin B12.

    Hope this helps

I am also on a wait and watch. Do to other issues going on in my life. Severe ulcerative colitis. My latest white blood cell count is at .08. See hematologist in about 2 weeks again. You should get a second opinion, if you feel the way you do.

Are you taking vidaza as well. Not sure when I will get my first injections. Had my colon removed in March 14th 2017. Just got reversed on October 17th, 2017. In a lot of pain. Constantly getting Urinary Tract Infections.

Thank you for responding. You are right 6mp should have never been prescribed.

My left and right arm will go numb occasionally. Have a tingling sensation to them. Takes a while to get it to go away. Not sure if this helps.

Cannabis oil should have THC in it to work? There are a lot of knock offs out there. Myself I can’t do any chemotherapy until I get rid of my Foley catheter and Ostomy bag. Too much of a risk for infection.

Be careful that it may be sepsis. I had that last year. White blood cell count dropped to .3. I was doing the exact same thing with a fever of 102. Be very careful with blood poisoning. Any questions let me know.

I looked up my recent blood work, White blood cell count 1.3, red blood cell count 3.84, Hemoglobin 13.2, platelet count 111, Neutrphils .6 or 600. For the last 5 years I kept getting Urinary Tract Infections, which led to blood poisoning October 2016. Doctors had no idea why I kept getting these UTIs. Had my colon removed in March 2017. Don’t feel any different other than I get tired easier. Doctors want to use chemotherapy. Not sure what type. Not to keen of chemo. Any feed back, I would appreciate it.

    Thank you.

Hi Shannon, I have MDS after a bone marrow biopsy in February of 2017. My surgeon who removed my colon did not like my white blood cell counts in the 1.8 to 2.3 range. Now they are in the 1.3 range and holding steady. Not sure of the the other counts. Had blood poisoning October 2016. I was very lucky. I don’t feel any different. I get tired easily. Good luck. Try a non sugar diet. Hard to do, may work wonders.
