Hey everyone I just signed up. I am Eddie and I thought some of you might like an update. My father is still in Charlotte NC. His health had gotten alot worse very quickly. He hasent made it to Minnissota because his white cells have never came back. Yesterday they were .02 which is the norm for the last month or so. He has gone from talking and laughing to being stuck in a bed and not able to carry on conversations. Now there is talk of his white never coming back. My momn Sarah really misses everyone and talks about her friends here daily. She would love to talk to you but she has been by my dads side for close to 50 days now. She has to wash him in bed take temp reading every hour , and she has learned to run a IV pump as good as anyone. Well I will be checking in now that I have an account so please feel free to ask anything or let me know if I can pass anything on. My prays go out to everyone.

    Dear Eddie,
First, I want you to know that you’ve come to the right place; all of us here are in the same boat and we’re here to help each other.
Secondly, I’m tempted to ask why they don’t try Neupogen to increase the WBC. However, we really need to know more first. For example, does your dad have MDS? What kind? What are the platelets and RBC like? Has he had a BMB? Any chromosome abnormalities?
Also, I’d like to know, assuming that your dad has MDS, if you are at a “Center of Excellence.” You need an outstanding doctor whose specialty is this disease.
Now, I’m going to look up Charlie and Sarah Vanhoy. I’m thinking that I’ve missed a lot of this story and that finding their names might give me more information.
Meanwhile, we’re here to help, Eddie! Stay tuned! I’m sure others will follow this post!

Hi Eddie, I’m so sorry that your Dad is not doing well. Your Mom put me in touch with their Doc when we were visiting in Charlotte. I appreciated it very much, it enabled us to take our vacation out there. I have been very concerned that things were’nt going well for Charlie when we didn’t hear from your Mom. Tell Sarah that she and Charlie are in our thoughts and prayers, and thanks for posting Eddie.

    Dear Eddie,
I’m so sorry you lost your dad. In a way maybe I know how you feel, since I lost my sweet dad too. Maybe someday we’ll all be together again. Please accept my deepest sympathy on your loss.
