I was diagnosed with low risk MDS in 2016. Low platelets are my problem. I also suffer with bad pain in my knees and lower back. I do need a total knee replacement on my right knee but because my platelets are so low 36 I would need a transfusion and the surgeon wants them to be at no less than 90. I can’t take NSAIDS because of my platelets so
I would like to know if anyone else who has bad pain been put on Lyrica.

    Carol,
I have pain in all of my joints most of the time. It similar to the ache you get after really working out. Though i try no to take pain medication. my Dr. prescribed Tramadol. I cant have NSAIDS either, and I can really say I miss my Aleve!! Good luck with your platelets. Hope they elevate so you can address your knee replacement.

I almost forgot!! When I had my 1st BM biopsy, thr pathologist hit a nerve in my leg. I had severe pain off and on for about5 mos. No one really solved the problem. I went to my family Dr. and he suggested Pregabalin(generic) for Lyrica, I took 25mg 3X a day for about 3 weeks. My pain left and not returned. I quit
taking te drug when pain subsided.
