Walking with Your Loved One: MDS & the Caregiver’s Journey With special guest speaker, Sarah Kelly, MSW, LCSW (Oncology Social Worker at CancerCare)
Caring for a loved one with MDS can be an overwhelming experience. Adjusting to new roles, navigating the medical system and finding balance between providing care for yourself, as well as your loved one, can be difficult. This presentation will address caregiver concerns and provide practical resources and strategies to assist caregivers on their journey. Each attendee will receive materials which will include information on self-care and other helpful resources. We will address:
• The Role of Caregiver
• Self-Care Techniques
• Hope
Ms. Kelly oversees CancerCare’s Older Adult Program and provides counseling and support services nationally to people coping with cancer, caregivers, and their loved ones. A member of the Association of Oncology Social Work (AOSW) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), Ms. Kelly’s specialty is on cancer quality of life and psychosocial wellbeing issues.
