My father was a world war 11 marine who just passed away from MDS. I have been trying to research the overall number of vets with MDS.

My husband is a Vietnam Vet who was Dx with MDS in April of 2016. It was watch and wait until April of 2017. He then started on Procrit and Nuepogen weekly unless his count went high enough to skip a week. It was gradually adjusted. His hgb is staying about 8 most of the time now. He participated in a study of Vietnam vets and agent orange exposure last year by a Dr. from Dana-Farber/ Harvard Cancer Center. He is applying for benefits from the VA because we believe that agent orange may have caused his MDS. So far the VA has not accepted MDS as a presumptive for agent orange. I do not know of any number of Vietnam vets that have MDS. I hope this helps.
