Hello All, Our blood drive today was a huge success. We collected 90 units of blood. The down side was that we had to turn away 40 people due to inadequate beds and workers. But we were real excited with our turn out and the support our community showed. We also educated many people about MDS and what blood means to people affected with this disease. Dad and Mom worked all day.
Our friends that could not give made desserts and worked to assist donors and make them comfortable. We had many first time donors. A lady in her 70s gave for the first time and plans to give more often.
I encourage all you support people to plan a drive. It was so much fun. The work was minimal but the reward was tremendous.
