Frankie I will keep you posted on How Bobs treatment goes. Bobs spleen has been enlarged for some time, However the doctor did not feel the need to do anything since he was maintaining, however since May he has has some bleeding problems which have been serious all a result of low plts. The doctor is trying the radiation since Bob is not a candidate to have the spleen removed to see if it helps, He thinks the spleen could be sucking up his plts. They tell us it is a very low dose, but Radiation does effect the marrow The radiation oncologist states that where they are treating there is very little marrow. However they could hit areas with marrow, however majority of marrow in the pelvic, hip area spine etc and these areas should not be involved. They will run a CBC before each treatment they will start with 3 treatments a week and maybe 2-3 weeks depending how he does.
