I have had 3 rounds of Dacogen and about 20 days after I develop a fever(100.5-101.5) and a sinus like infection. Also the WBC usually drop to about 0.75 range and granulocytes are at about .2. I end up in the hospital for a few days, in isolation and on IV drugs.
My onco is treating another patient and we are mirroring each other with the reaction.

    A) Has anyone experienced this with Dacogen?
    B) Has your onco given you an explanation that makes sense beyond it’s the nadir of the Dacogen?
    C) Are you taking anything to prevent this reaction?

    Appreciate your input.

my wife has no real side effects from dacogen. after about a week or so, her levels drop to those you stated but she generally never gets feverish. when she does get a low grade fever, tylenol gets her out of it quickly.
