How to tell if Vidaza has stopped working

Have been on Vidaza for six months. My MDS only involves my hemoglobin. Have been holding count at 8.5 with no transfusion since February. My hemoglobin count went down to 7.6 n doctor doesn’t know if it’s because drug isn’t working or if my body needs rest from drug. She suggested going off Vidaza for a month to see how blood looks then but am concerned about going off of it.

I know this is a difficult situation for you and I would recommend that you go to one of our Centers of Excellence in MDS for a second opinion. You should be very carefully assessed before undergoing any treatment. Benefits versus risk analysis should be done with any treatment.
