    Hi all!

Just joined the forum. I was diagnosed with MDS about 2 1/2 years ago, and have experienced severe drops in my blood values in the last month that I’ll be starting Vidaza this Monday (26th).

As many of us may ask ourselves, “How did I get this?”, I look to you for possibly a little clarity. Living with this condition, we have been told that there is really no known cause for MDS. Chemical or radiation exposure, including benzene, have been sighted as possibilities. In addition, I’m looking for others that are in the television business. I’ve edited tv shows for nearly 30 years, and I’m wondering if radiation from the tv monitors have played a role in aquiring MDS.

My focus is now on my treatment. However, I really needed to talk to someone about this. Any feedback is appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Chip
