Hey all. My wife’s (my future caregiver) best friend has some kind of spine cancer and she attended a seminar by a motivational speaker, Alan Hobson. Turns out he survived Leukemia via a stem cell transplant. He wrote a book I want to share with you:
“Climb Back from Cancer: A Survivor and Caregiver’s Inspirational Journey”, by Alan Hobson, Cecilia Hobson.
Imagine 2 good writers who write a 250 page book that goes blow-by-blow thru a diagnosis and subsequent stem cell transplant. Alan & his caregiver-fiancee Cecilia take turns writing chapters from both the patient and the caregiver perspectives. I havent read the whole book yet but from what I’ve seen it’s going to help me mentally and emotionally prepare for this summer when I will be in the hot seat. Plus, the book has many, many good tips.
Hobson scaled Mt. Everest 3 times and compares his Leukemia battle with his hikes up the big hill.
