can chemo cause hearing loss?

My mil seems to have lost some hearing in the last few months. She’s always had perfect hearing but lately she’s been asking everyone to repeat themselves. Her sister was just here for a week from Arizona and also noticed it. The first indication was the beeping on the digital thermometer–she doesn’t hear it at all.

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this or has had a similar experience. Thanks.

Several of the chemo drugs do have a side effect of hearing loss. It might be good for your mil to have a hearing test to set a baseline and have it monitored regularly.
I know my hearing has been progressively decreasing since treatment.
