    Can anyone give me any ideas to help my Mom boost her energy level. She is RAS and transfusion dependent every other week. She really struggles with having any energy. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi Teresa,
    How old is your Mom?
    Have you discussed Procrit or Aranesp with her doc?
    Is her doc a hematologist or oncologist?

    Hi Neil;

    Mom is 76yrs, her Dr. is Dr. Maness in Omaha, NE, she is a MDS specialist. We have tried both Procrit and Aranesp. The Procrit helped for a few months and the Aranesp made her very ill and weak. She had both meds 3 yrs ago.

    If you have any other ideas, I am open

    Thanks for the response.

    Hi Teresa,
    I don’t have anything to add, just wanted you to know that I am also a patient of Dr. Maness.

    Hi Teresa,
    Appears your Mom has a very good doc.
    She is not that old that her age is a serious factor.
    Has her iron level been checked? Procrit and Aranesp need iron to function properly.
    Its a bit unusual to have Aranesp make a patient ill and weak. Has her doc offerend any thoughts?
    Have you spoken with customer service at Amgen to see if they have any thoughts?
