New article available online. “Improvement of anemia by H.pylori eradication in a patient with myelodysplastic syndrome.”
I understand the organism is fairly common in adults. I would like your thoughts about the article. Do you think your hematologist would be interested in reading it?

Hi Bety: So where is this article. My husband who is 74, just wants to sleep all the time. He finished his first 7 days on Wednesday but still just sleeps all the time. How do you improve the anemia?

    Thanks
    Fran

Hi Bety, I found the pubMed web site but was unable to read the article as the publisher is charging $30.00 for it. I did however read some other articles re: the improvement of long-standing iron-deficiency anemia in adults after eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection.I wish I could have read the article in regard to the treatment of the MDS. patient. Hopefully drs. are testing Mds. patients with gastric problems for the H. Pylori bacteria. This would help considerably in treating and improvement of their anemia. Thanks for bringing this to our attention as my husband has a number of gastric problems.

my dad has many gastric problems too – i wonder if that is just one of the side effects of the disease or maybe the treatments – he has been tested several times for h pylori – all tests are negative
