A quick intro- my first time on the board. My husband is 78 years old- I am 58. We have been married since 1985 and have a daughter in college. He was diagnosed last fall- high risk. He had many blood transfusions but started and responded to Dacagen chemo treatments in January. He is about to start treatment 7. I work full-time but took 6 weeks off last fall at the worst of the illness. It seems that we are looking at monthly chemo for the rest of his life which is frightening. Our doctor is wary of changing anything because of our very positive response. We haven’t done a 2nd bone marrow test- not sure what the point would be. Would like suggestions of how to think positively and enjoy the good days. He has 2 great weeks every month- then chemo week and the week after- which is the recovery week. Would love to hear from those of you with a similar scenario- understanding that no 2 cases are alike.
