    Hello –
My father was diagnosed with MDS-EB1 3 months ago. He is starting Vidaza tomorrow. He is in high risk.
They found Trimosy-8 and other mutations,
The doctor said that he is a very good candidate for a BMT and we are starting the process to find a donor and checking about the risks etc.
Anyone did a BMT at the age of 76? How was the process? How difficult was the chemo?
My father has never been sick before. No medications, no illnesses, nothing!

    Thank you!
    Tali

I had transplant about age 74. Transplant, TBI, and chemo was a piece of cake. GVHD was the pits. See my other postings.
