between you & me, when you get into your 60’s, no one wants you when it comes to cord transplant. in retrospect, if we had started treatment at a center doing cord transplants, I believe it would have been done. Our home is in the Philadelphia area. my wife had her breast surgery at the same center where she is now being treated. there are very few centers that are doing cord transplants and none in the Phila area. Her treating Center, Temple Univ Fox Chase, where they’ve done over 1000 non-cord donor transplants, has applied to the Univ of MN to do their protocol. Hopefully it will be approved in the very near future. She’ll probably be their 1st patient which makes me quite nervous, however, knowing that the 1st time I do something, I check & re-check things and it usually comes out well. I do have confidence in their staff & especially her hematologist.
