What part of Medicare is paying for Revlimid?…anyone know??

I believe it would be D if there is any coverage at all unless our doctors or clinics can find a way around it. The fact that B covers Chemotherapy makes it confusing but I believe the way they interpret that is chemo that you are required to be in a Doctors officee, clinic or hospital to receive under supervision-usually through an IV.

My dad was just prescribed Revlimid today after nearly 4 good years on Aneresp.

Revlimid is not covered by Part B since it’s an oral capsule – it’s covered undere Part D Prescription plan id it’s covered at all. Since the plans vary so much, we don’t yet know how much the co-pay is yet on Dad’s insurance. He is on AARP.

The cost of this drug scares me almost as much as the MDS diagonosis.

Rackon, someone posted after this discussion that they managed to get it without even a co- pay. Look at back posts. I figured they must have gotten it under the medicare coverage of chemotherapy.
