Has anyone had a PE with low plts? I believe my Dad has one but they can’t do a CT scan due to elevated crt. Possible VQ scan today. However, they said even if he has one, they won’t anticoagulate. I’m concerned that without anticoagulants it will just keep growing. They are looking for all other probable causes for his symptoms that are treatable first. Thx

Hi, I’ve been on Vida a for 7 months. My platelets are low. Sometime going as low as 5. At present I am getting 2 units of platelets weekly. Approx e dry 2 weeks I add 1 unit of prbc’s. My blast level has been reduced from 21% to 3% but I’ve seen no change in my transfusion requirements. I am confused about your statement about something will keep growing and the correlation to low platelets. Wish I could help more.

Thanks for your reply Charles. A PE(pulmonary embolism) was what I was referring to. Right now my Dad is awaiting liver biopsy results. His bili keeps climbing and has no know liver disease. Prayers to you.
